My mom-in-law is in the house (literallly!) which means that the guest room is pretty well done and the reveal post will be happening on Monday. But to tide you over, thought you’d like to see some pics showing the power of paint in this room.
Seriously, I love paint. It is the fastest way to transform absolutely anything. It even transforms your hands from manicured glory to crusty paint nails (okay, that’s not a great transformation). Lots of painting went on in the guest bedroom makeover. We already covered the nightstands, but here is a flashback of those for ya:
Then I did the fun stuff: painting the walls, trim, and closet. Here’s how the trim looked in mid-paint:
And here’s some edging of the walls:
And now the final paint job of the walls, which is Benjamin Moore’s London Fog:
I also had to paint the yucko closet, including the particleboard floor we uncovered when tearing out the carpet.
I used porch and floor paint which I had on hand that was color matched at some point, so no name for you. But it is a gray-ish color that really isn’t noticeable and is much better than the unpainted particle board.
And I didn’t stop at painting walls, floors, ceilings, and trim – I even painted a random object that I had hanging out in my house which was perfect to fill the spot in one of the nightstands.
So there you have it, the guest room transformed by paint. And you’ll get to see the whole room on Monday’s reaveal (which will include the DIY upholstered headboard!).
Anyone else love paint like I do? Not only does it change a room, it is pretty mindless work so you can focus your energy on rocking out to Pandora. And if you do enough of it (painting and rocking out), you can tell yourself it is exercise. Happy painting!
