Thanks for listening to my little home-gush session last post everyone. But now I’m back to business. Literally. As in the office where I go every day and work to bring home the bacon. There’s not much I can do to cozy up that corporate space, but I do have a little bright spot now in the form of a picture ledge chock full of, well, pictures.
I haven’t done much to my office at work since hanging my painted fabric art a few months back. But on a little trip to Ikea, I saw these picture ledges and snapped up two of the 45 inchers, to create this:
Kind of nice to spruce up a boring beige and brown office with a wall-full-o-art, right? And the process was so easy. Just screw the ledges into the wall (use drywall anchors and a level), cover the screws with the little black sticker covers so kindly provided by Ikea, and set up some art. Here’s a visual:
I played around with some art and frames I had on hand, added a new Ikea print, added a pic from our trip to Spain, framed a random fabric sample, and even built a frame for one particular poster that was an odd shape (just a few pieces of lattice plus glue and staples and paint and it is good to go).
I am pretty sure things will get switched up in here, but that’s the beauty of a picture ledge – it is so easy to change your art as the mood strikes. Or as the seasons change. Or as you see a new piece of art that just needs to be put on your wall. Any of those instances, really.
Anyone else loving these picture ledges to corral a bunch of frames? Or like the flexibility of keeping your art fresh? That made it sound like I am talking about eggs or something – odd.
