Hi guys – I just wanted to check in with another life update over here as it’s been a while. I miss you! (Too much??) We’ve been enjoying some nice weather and have been spending more and more time outside – it’s glorious. I had a dinner out earlier in the week and before that enjoyed happy hour at this fun outdoor spot above (for you locals, it’s Marjorie in Capitol Hill).
Lately I’ve been dreaming up a deck refresh. I had hoped to share a mood board with you this week but lawyer life got in the way so look for that beginning of next week. I can tell you that these chairs are making an appearance and I am very excited about it. And for kicks, take a look at this very old post I wrote about diy posts for hanging outdoor string lights on your deck. That post is one of my most popular! Believe it or not, this may be the summer those posts, or at least one of them, comes down so we can switch things up out there.
I’ve also been working on finishing up a few random things around the house, one of which was frosting our master bathroom window so the neighborhood didn’t have to see me shower. I showed how I did it on my Instagram stories and got so many questions I wanted to share what I used. It is this window film and you apply it with this application kit – don’t skip the kit! It’s so easy. I’ve used it for a few other windows around the house and it provides perfect privacy while still letting in light. Not the best photo but below you can see the difference between the bottom three panes that are frosted and the top three that are not.
Another item on my to do list for summer is repainting our brick/trim out front which will likely lead to painting out front door as well. It’s currently a bluish/tealish color but I’m thinking solid black. This entry is serving as great inspiration – I may want all the doors off our entry to go black! And speaking of entries, this entry is another favorite with its kid friendly look and fresh farmhouse appeal. So.much.charm.
Okay, and random blog question if you’ve read this far. I tend to be wordy and that probably used to be a good thing back when people really read blogs. Nowadays I hear people are more into photos and less into words. Which camp do you fall into – good with words or just here for the photos? I’m happy to keep chatting/writing away if people are interested but if it’s all about the photos, I’m good with that as well as it’s less opportunity for me to make a fool of myself in such a public forum (and we all know I need all the help I can get on that front).
Happy (almost) weekend friends!
