I thought it might be fun to start a Life Updated series with random life updates. I use the term “series” very loosely, as my commitment level to this is up for debate. But here are a few things happening lately.
I forced my face in front of the camera a couple weeks ago so I now have both an updated profile pic and an awkward photo of me
casually lounging fake relaxing on my window seat. It’s just so awkward on so many levels, yet I’m trying to embrace it. And you should recognize this is fake for two reasons: 1) I despise being in front of the camera, thus the reason I’ve had the same profile pic for the past two years, and 2) I am rarely home enough or sit still long enough to actually lounge.
I also did a little website updating to create a cleaner, easier to read blog, so hopefully all looks good to you. If you are having any issues with viewing online or seeing posts in your inbox (sign up to the right – I’ll only ever email you my posts and nothing else!) or on a reader like feedly or bloglovin, definitely let me know. The goal was just to make everything a streamlined and simple, because you know I like simple.
Last week my master bedroom was featured here on Inspired by This. I answered some fun questions about my design style, tips for creating a lovely yet livable home, and more, so feel free to check it out!
We’re finally getting some bluer skies here in Seattle and with that I’m starting to think about outdoor updates. So far all I have done is purchase this rug to go on my front porch (porch is generous, maybe a front landing?). It is hard to tell from the website photo but in real life it’s black and cream. I’ve also been debating painting our blue door black this summer now that we have a black-ish roof. Really, my goal is just to make the tan siding less ugly and I’m all about distraction.
You guys know how I love food and cook/entertain regularly, and this cookbook is filled with easy weeknight recipes that are all so good. The chicken tomatillo stew is on regular rotation around here – we ate it three times in the past two weeks!
This weekend we have the usual baseball runaround for two kids and likely some work on house projects in between. I’ve been pretty quiet on the house front but that’s going to change here real soon, so get ready for lots of upcoming tutorials, house progress, and fun smaller changes.
So what do you think, fun to share random updates? I always love hearing what other people are up to so thought I’d share the same beyond my regular Instagram posts.
And if you made it this far, maybe you’d like to see how my husband taught me how to fake model. I’m not even joking. He literally showed me how to pose. Dying over this!
Thanks for reading!!
