Happy Friday, folks! In the spirit of randomness, here I go, giving a totally unsolicited shout out to Oh My Pillow at Etsy for bringing these perfectly sewn pillows into my life
I happened upon this shop when I was searching for some new pillows. Pillow searching is something I have to do fairly often considering that styling is not my strong suit so I need to try out a bunch of stuff to figure out what I like. When searching for pillows, one of my go-to places is Etsy – affordable and great selection. It is just so easy to search by color or style or whatever other criteria I have in mind at that moment. When I started on my latest pillow search, my couch looked like this:
While I really like these pillows, they had a few problems. First, the colored pillows had seams that were starting to split after about five months of ownership – not cool seams, not cool.
Second, two of the pillows were white on the back, which I did not expect and didn’t really like to see when I walked into our living room from behind the couch.
So when searching Etsy, I really wanted to make sure that any pillows I purchased had both double sided fabric and strong construction. After searching around, I found Oh My Pillow. The website’s “About” page details Suzette’s construction – she creates pillows with modern fabrics, fabric on both sides, invisible zipper closures, and matched seams. Her promises did not disappoint – check out those perfectly matched seams:
They look even better in person than online.
I think these pillows are nice and neutral for the couch, and I can spice them up with additional colored pillows for each season.
Okay, while that red pillow may not say “spring”, it is the only other pillow I had on hand at the moment for a demo so go with it.
FYI, I got no freebies for this post and Suzette had no idea I was going to blog about her sewing skills. Consider me the “secret shopper” of the internet for throw pillows.
Anyone else ditch some old pillows for a few freshies? Or search around and really try to get a good quality product for a good price? Or use Etsy for your go-to source for anything home-related? If not, maybe you’ll do some shopping this weekend . . .
