Happy holidays friends! Today I’ve joined a group of talented women to share our holiday homes as part of the Meaningful Holiday Home Tour. You guys, these homes are so good! Be sure to check them all out through the links at the end of the post but first, I’ll show you how we decorated our home for the holidays. I kept the decorations fairly simple this year with mostly greenery, metallics, and some blush pink. Pink just keeps making its way into my house and I’m not mad about it.
One of my favorite spots during the holidays, or really year round, is our window seat. It feels even more special during the holidays with a simple garland and some neutral holiday decor on the shelves.
We spend much of our time in the kitchen but again I kept the decorating in there minimal by just adding a wreath and then some copper accents on the shelves. Oh, and those modern glass trees, which I love to use and every year I find a new spot for them.
For our living room I always find it tricky to decorate around a big tv. Please tell me I’m not alone in that. I first put garland on the mantle but after a few days of not being able to see the tv, rearranged. I think I like the dangling garland even better.
And the tree! We always go to the same Christmas tree place and pick out our tree. I tend to err on the side of more ornaments is better but exercised serious restraint this year, which I like a lot. Of course after I took these photos the kids added in all of our family ornaments so now it is packed with random craft ornaments mostly at the bottom of the tree, but it’s still pretty perfect for our family.
In our entry I decorated our bench area for the first time. I don’t know why I never thought to do it before – it just makes the whole entry more welcoming!
Finally, I cozied up our newly redone bedroom for the holidays by adding an easy diy eucalyptus wreath, a few bottle brush trees, and neutral pillows.
I am so glad I committed to decorating our home early this year so I can spend the rest of the year just slowing down and enjoying the season. I feel like I only have so many years left while my kids really believe in holiday magic and I want to soak up every second of it.
