If you are following on Instagram (@Houseupdated), you know some demo started in the house this weekend. Whoop, love me some new projects! But it’s not all big projects all the time. Sometimes it is the little things that can really bring a smile to your face. That’s what happened lately when I did some perking up in the bathroom. Does that sound weird? How about we just call it cheering up the bathroom, instead.
We re-did this bathroom to make it a gray and white marble oasis (fine, oasis is a total exaggeration), and after living with it in all its gray and white glory for a year, we went for some added cheer in the form of bright coral paint.
It took me all summer, but I eventually added some more cheer with new striped hand towels from West Elm, a candle and cute little bowl from Anthropologie, and a new fabric shower curtain liner instead of our old plastic one.
Actually, that last pic kind of makes me wish I had no shower curtain at all – subway tile just rocks.
So that’s how our family bathroom got a little cheering up. I am pretty sure I’ll need all the cheer I can get come these rapidly approaching gray days in Seattle. While just about everyone else is prepping for fall, I am loving hanging onto the bright colors of summer. Go coral! Boo mums.
