A few weeks ago I styled up my bar cart tray and figured since I just transformed mine (from a dusty gathering place for old glasses and unused bottles) I’d go ahead and share a few easy tips for how to style a bar tray of your own.
Let’s just say a bar tray is not where you need to spend excessive styling energy because isn’t the whole point to deplete and replenish if often? At least that’s how it goes around here – ha! I switched mine up in about 10 minutes so it really is a quick update, especially if you use a few key tips.
First, I like to start with a general mood or color theme. I was inspired to use whites and pinks by the new piece of art I got for the space (from The Citizenry – which is one of my favorite art pieces ever!).
I really love the muted pink/peach tones in the print and thought some copper mugs and bottles of rosé would go perfectly. With that as my starting point, I wanted everything else to be more neutral and blend in with the art so stuck to white and clear bottles/glassware.
Second, I like to vary heights so stacked my rosé bottles on top of a few neutral colored books. I also put the taller items in back and the lower glasses and mugs in the front
Finally, adding in greenery is always a good idea. Here, I just picked white roses and other greens from my garden. And once the roses are gone, the greens last longer and add life and interest to the bar tray.
Really, it’s super easy to create a cohesive looking bar tray with just these steps. And best of all, you don’t need a full bar cart or even a stand for your tray to pull off this look. You can grab any tray you have hanging around and put it on any surface like a buffet or counter. Add a few key pieces from around your house (I had everything on hand for this one, including those roses from my garden) and make it easy to spend a few minutes to pull your bar tray together. And a nonalcoholic bar cart is just as easy too – with these same colors you could just substitute in blood orange soda or pink lemonade and clear bottles and that’s it!
Now back to the important part: don’t be afraid to use it! I’ll admit that my bar tray is now down to a sole bottle of rosé, which I guess just means it’s time to stock up…
